This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) supplements and is incorporated into our Terms of Service. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in the Terms.
1. Purpose
This AUP describes how the Service may and may not be used. It applies to all KnowledgeBricks properties, including knowledgebricks.com and logistics.knowledgebricks.com. It is meant to keep the Service useful, safe, and fairly priced for the practitioners it is built for. Violation of this AUP is a material breach of the Terms and the Content License and may result in suspension or termination, with no refund and without prior notice if the violation is severe.
2. Single-user accounts
- Each subscription is for one (1) individual. Treat your credentials like a personal toothbrush.
- No account sharing. That includes coworkers, contractors, family members, classmates, and any automated agent operating on behalf of someone else.
- No team-by-stealth. Routing multiple humans through one account by funneling questions through a shared chat, email thread, or internal tool counts as account sharing.
- We monitor for sharing patterns (concurrent sessions in distant geographies, abnormally diverse user-agents, bursty multi-topic question patterns). We may rate-limit, require re-authentication, or terminate offending accounts.
- Need a team plan? Email support@kbaas.ai. We would rather sell you the right plan than ban you.
3. Automated access
You may not use scripts, bots, headless browsers, scrapers, or AI agents to access the Service beyond ordinary in-browser reading at human speeds. Specifically prohibited:
- Crawling or mirroring the Content library.
- Automating Ask a SME submissions to enumerate the corpus.
- Bypassing rate limits, paywalls, tier gates, anonymous-question caps, or authentication checks.
- Using residential proxies, IP rotation, or CAPTCHA-defeating services to evade our defenses.
- Running browser extensions or local agents that pre-fetch protected pages on your behalf.
We provide no public API. If you would like programmatic access for a legitimate use, contact us; otherwise assume the answer is “no.”
4. No AI training, ever
You may not use the Content, Ask a SME outputs, or any data extracted from the Service to:
- Train, fine-tune, distill, evaluate, ground, retrieval-augment, or otherwise develop any machine-learning model, foundation model, embedding model, vector index, or AI system, whether for internal use or external distribution.
- Build a competing knowledge base, course, dataset, or “AI assistant” derived from our Content.
- Generate synthetic training data based on our Content.
This restriction applies whether the activity is performed by you, on your behalf, by your employer, or by an automated agent operated by you. It applies regardless of whether the resulting model is open-source, proprietary, free, or paid.
5. Content restrictions
You may not:
- Republish, mirror, repackage, or redistribute the Content in whole or in substantial part, in any format, paid or free, including in newsletters, course materials, internal wikis, or knowledge bases.
- Resell, sublicense, or otherwise grant any third party access to the Content or your account.
- Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, attribution, or notice on the Content.
- Use the Service to compile a competing publication or training corpus.
- Use Ask a SME outputs in a way that misrepresents them as the user’s original work in a commercial deliverable to a client without independent verification.
Quoting brief excerpts (under 200 words) in good-faith commentary or review with attribution and a link back to logistics.knowledgebricks.com or knowledgebricks.com is welcome. See the Content License for the full rules.
6. Security and integrity
You may not:
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or breach any security or authentication measure, except as permitted by a written security-research agreement with us.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service (e.g., DDoS, resource exhaustion).
- Inject malicious code, malware, or content designed to compromise users or our infrastructure.
- Attempt to access another user’s account, data, or sessions.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code, embeddings, prompts, or system instructions.
Responsible-disclosure reports of suspected vulnerabilities are welcome at support@kbaas.ai with “Security” in the subject line. Please give us a reasonable opportunity to fix before public disclosure.
7. Lawful and respectful use
You may not use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation, including export controls and sanctions.
- Infringe any third party’s intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or contractual rights.
- Submit to Ask a SME any content that you do not have the right to submit, including third-party confidential information, customer data, regulated personal data (e.g., health records, full payment-card numbers), or material protected by an NDA.
- Harass, threaten, or attempt to identify any individual.
- Generate or attempt to generate content that is illegal, defamatory, infringing, or that solicits the same.
8. Use of Ask a SME
Ask a SME is an informational tool. You agree:
- Not to rely on its output as engineering, legal, safety, or regulatory advice.
- To verify any output before using it operationally — including in vendor selection, capacity sizing, safety analysis, or capital decisions.
- Not to attempt to extract, enumerate, or reconstruct the underlying corpus through prompt construction.
- That your questions are logged and processed as described in our Privacy Policy, including automated PII redaction. Please do not paste sensitive personal information, customer-confidential data, or trade secrets into Ask a SME.
9. Refunds and chargebacks
- Refund eligibility is governed by Section 5.4 of the Terms. The standard refund window is 14 days from a charge.
- Initiating a payment chargeback before contacting us at support@kbaas.ai and giving us a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue is itself a violation of this AUP and may result in account termination and recovery of fees and chargeback costs.
10. Reporting and enforcement
Report suspected violations to support@kbaas.ai with “AUP” in the subject line.
We may, at our discretion and without prior notice, take any of the following actions in response to a violation:
- Issue a warning.
- Apply rate limits or temporary restrictions.
- Suspend or terminate the offending account, with no refund.
- Block the offending IP range or organization.
- Pursue civil remedies, including injunctive relief and recovery of damages and fees.
- Notify affected third parties (for example, the trademark owner of misused marks) or law enforcement where appropriate.
We may, but are not obligated to, give notice and an opportunity to cure for minor or first-time violations.
11. Changes to this AUP
We may update this AUP from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent version. For material changes, we will provide notice via the Service or by email at least fifteen (15) days before they take effect.
